Copper-Clad Stainless Steel Sculpture
35” H x 27” W x 14” D
This contemporary sculpture hovers between abstract and figurative. The piece is composed of bisecting planes of copper-clad stainless steel that both form the figure of Iris and describe her motion and musculature. She is part of my Bad-Ass Goddess Series– which reflects the strength and aspirations we all have inside. Iris was the fleet of foot messenger for Hera. The copper has a dark patina but also reflects light and dark. The figure is mounted on a granite turntable.
