"Dance of the Tropics" is a vibrant mixed media artwork measuring 24 x 30 inches, using printed aluminum, printed and tissue papers, and acrylic paint to create layers and depth. At its center is an abstract dancer -- in motion -- highlighted by colors like blue, purple, yellow, and pink. Surrounding this figure is a mix of geometric and organic shapes that add to the dynamic feel of the piece.

The background features lively orange and yellow tones, reminiscent of tropical sunsets, adding warmth and energy and includes sketched imagery of the beach at the Copacabana.  This combination of colors and forms brings to mind the vibrant atmosphere of a Latin nightclub.

The artwork invites viewers to connect with its energetic story, offering an exploration of dance and rhythm through its visual elements. Its playful design creates an engaging experience, encouraging viewers to feel the movement and joy within.

At it’s basic level, the piece is inspired by the dancing in the 1960’s movie adaptation of “West Side Story”.  The central figure is based on the original wax figure I sculpted as inspired by the character of Anita as played by Rita Moreno.

Ready to Hang - The artwork needs no visible framing.  It comes with a back float mount attached to the aluminum panel.  It hangs from the lip of the back floating mount.  A French cleat or (also called a Z-Clip Mount) is provided.
