The figure was first sculpted in wax then digitized and manipulated digitally.  The solid portions of the figure were 3D carved with a CNC machine.  The slatted portions were 2D cut with the same CNC machine. 

”Girl on Fire” is fully water-proof.  It’s made of marine-grade Douglas Fir plywood and uses stainless hardware and exterior glues.  It can be displayed indoors or out.  For outdoor display, there are 4 holes for 3/8” stainless bolts for attachment to a customer provided plinth or attachment to a patio.  Due to the potential fragility of the headdress to blown debris, it’s recommended that the piece be sited in a sheltered outdoor place.  For indoor display, it is on an aluminum turntable that allows the artwork to be re-positioned easily.
