Twyla is the start of a new more abstract series of dancers - celebrating female choreographers. In many of my other series, the rhythm of the slats helps propel the motion of the dancer. In these new, more abstract, figures, the rhythm is augmented from the juxtaposition of saturated bi-color. The steel is welded and painted.
